If you know anything about us, you know we build and ship custom PCs across India. Recently, during a service meeting, we had an interesting thought—why not share our internal reliability data with you?
This blog highlights the most reliable PC components we’ve tested across thousands of builds. Instead of calling out brands with high RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) rates, we’re focusing only on the best-performing ones.
Also, to keep things fair, we’ve excluded brands or SKUs with fewer than 1,000 units in our dataset. Let’s dive in!
CPU Reliability
There are only two major players here: Intel and AMD. Based on our data:
- Intel CPUs have a 6.4% RMA rate, primarily due to the high volume of Core i9-14900K units requiring service. However, recent BIOS updates have improved stability.
- AMD CPUs, on the other hand, show only a 1.5% RMA rate—a significantly better number.
GPU Reliability
When it comes to graphics cards, here’s what our data shows:
- Zotac – 2% RMA rate
- Inno3D – 3% RMA rate
- MSI – 3% RMA rate
There are other brands GPU that have an RMA rate of around 4-31%
Motherboard Reliability
Motherboards are often a stress point in RMA cases. Here’s what we found:
- MSI motherboards have the lowest RMA rate at 4%.
- ASUS motherboards follow at 8-9%, though we’ve noticed a decline in ASUS RMAs over the past 2-3 months.
Other brands have an RMA rate around 7-48%
Some of these numbers may be related to issues with Core i9-14900K motherboards that repeatedly required RMAs.
RAM Reliability
Only three major manufacturers produce memory chips worldwide: Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. Most RAM brands source from them, so RMA rates should be similar. However, our data shows:
- Corsair RAM has an RMA rate of just 2%.
- G.Skill RAM is slightly higher at 5%, mainly due to compatibility issues with MSI and ASUS motherboards.
Other brands have an RMA rate around 7-48%
Storage Reliability
We shipped a lot of Western Digital, Adata and Samsung, we see the following RMA rates:
- Western Digital – 2.3%
- Adata – 3%
- Samsung – 0%
Other brands have an RMA rate around 6-28%
Cooler Reliability
Cooling components also have some variability:
- Corsair AIO Coolers – 2% RMA rate
- Deepcool Coolers – 1.9% RMA rate
These are also the brands that we recommend/use the most as they have lower RAM rates since it makes our job easier and ensures better experiences for our customers.
Power Supply Reliability
PSUs are one of the most critical PC components—a failure here can kill your entire system. That’s why we focus on brands with low RMA rates:
- Deepcool & Corsair – 2-4% RMA rate
- Superflower (Leadex Series) – 0% RMA rate (so far!)
Superflower PSUs have a 10-year warranty and are Titanium certified, making them a strong contender for inclusion in future builds.
Conclusion
