How We Revolutionised Custom PC Shipping in India

Back in 2016, When we started theMVP there were people who used to laugh at us.

“You’re going to ship fragile, expensive computers across India? From your bedroom? Online?”. But that’s exactly what we did.

But our mission was simple — to deliver fully built custom PCs right to your doorstep. From day one, our goal was to make it so seamless that “aapko ghar se nikalne ki zarurat na padhe.” No retail stores, no assembling, no fuss.

Our real struggle in the early days wasn’t just logistics. It was building trust.

How do you get someone to send you ₹1–2 lakh for a custom PC — online — from another city — when you’re just a few guys in a room?

But executing that vision brought with it a massive challenge: shipping.

The Big Problem: Shipping across country

Shipping fully built PCs — especially custom ones with glass panels, multiple GPUs, AIO coolers, and even custom water loops — wasn’t just hard, it was borderline insane at the time. We were building these rigs right out of our bedrooms, with no access to fancy industrial-grade packaging solutions.

And let’s be honest — “Handle with care” stickers mean nothing to most courier services in India. Even a small jerk or vibration could rip out components or shatter a glass panel. It was a nightmare waiting to happen.

The Crate Phase

Our first solution? Wooden crates.

Yes, actual handcrafted wooden boxes.

It worked — for a while. The PCs were well-protected, but building a custom crate for every new case size was time-consuming, bulky, and expensive. The process just didn’t scale. It also started eating into the costs in a big way. So crates were ruled out.

Then Came the

Bubble Wrap Era

Next, we moved to layers and layers of bubble wrap. It helped a bit. The external packaging was safer. But now, a new problem started showing up — internal damage.

Components like RAM sticks would shake loose, GPUs would bend or break off. In one heartbreaking incident, the GPU we had carefully installed came off during shipping, its golden pins snapped off into the motherboard. The entire PCB was destroyed, and we had to cover the loss from our own pocket.

Discovering Instapak

We knew we needed something much better. Something used globally.

That’s when we discovered Instapak foam packaging — a revolutionary solution used to ship delicate electronics and even aerospace parts. It’s a kind of expanding foam that molds itself around the PC, locking every part in place, inside and out.

The only problem?

No one in India sold it.

We were just doing 20 PCs a month at the time. Importing it meant spending ₹1–2 lakhs upfront. That was more than we were even earning at that point. But we had no choice.

We Took the Risk and we pooled in whatever funds we had and imported the first batch of Instapak foam into India.

Our damage rates dropped to zero. The confidence it gave our customers? Priceless.

Today, almost every system integrator in India ships their PCs with Instapak-style foam packaging.

Conclusion

We never sold parts. We sold solutions.

Whether you’re a gamer, designer, or developer — we built the PC you needed.

And guess what?

India was ready.

Because just like clothes, one size doesn’t fit all — not in fashion, not in tech. We didn’t just solve a shipping problem — we changed the standard for custom PC logistics in India.
