5. Riven
Originally released in 1997, Riven is a first-person point-and-click adventure game and the sequel to the blockbuster Myst. The original Myst was recently remade in 3D and VR by the developers Cyan Worlds. Now, Riven has also received a 3D glow-up.
This remake is a resounding success, challenging players with a series of complex puzzles in a breathtaking, unreal island setting on the brink of collapse. The real-time 3D environment offers a major graphical upgrade, attracting both old and new fans alike.

4. Minishoot’ Adventure
Remember Pac-Man? Minishoot’ Adventures is essentially Pac-Man with guns, set in an amazing, artsy landscape.
This indie top-down shooter is clearly inspired by Zelda games, offering a fun and simplistic gameplay experience in a visually striking world.

3. Mullet MadJack
Mullet MadJack is our personal favorite—a super-fast FPS with anime-inspired visuals. Set in the 2090s, you’ll battle billionaire robots in a world reminiscent of a futuristic anime.
Think John Wick in a futuristic setting, but with retro visuals. You’ll navigate through floors of enemies, gaining extra time for your health bar until you reach the top. It’s a must-have for fans of high-speed action.
2. Balatro
Balatro is an addictive poker game that adds uniquely powered jokers, cards, and entire decks, transforming your poker experience.
Some say it’s as addictive as Candy Crush, and once you start playing, you might find it hard to put down.

Animal Well is the standout indie game of 2024. Developed by Billy Basso, who initially focused on educational games, Animal Well was created using UNITY3D.
This game offers a beautifully pixelated world filled with secrets, featuring a start, middle, and end that makes for an engaging and cozy experience. It’s perfect for filling your leisure time with fun and exploration.
